Brown quits M.C. Fire Board

For the Keizertimes

Jon R. “Randy” Brown has resigned from the board of directors of Marion County Fire District No. 1 effective the end of April.

Brown, who reported having been involved with the district for 37 years, the last 17 as a director, announced his resignation at the April 21 board meeting.

“I now come to the position,” he said in his resignation message, “where I feel my goals for the district are contrary to the current management style and therefore are minimized to the point of being inconsequential. Financial decisions are made that are counterproductive, and leadership is not where it should be. The men and women who have served this district and its constituents for so many years are what had made this a progressive and respected fire district. I feel that this is no longer the case. It is with these issues at hand that I find that the physical and emotional toll is too high a price to pay.”
