Josephine ‘Jody’ Amburgy

Josephine ‘Jody’ Marie Amburgy, of McMinnville and formerly of Keizer, died Friday, May 13, 2011. She was 77.

Born in Shoshone, Idaho on May 25, 1933, she was the first of six children born to Joe and Marie Mallea. She was raised on a farm and went to school in Shoshone until the ninth grade.

She wed Peter W. McNulty in 1949, and they had three sons, living most of their married life in Boise, Idaho. She married Bill Amburgy in 1969 and gave birth to a daughter. They lived in Keizer.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, caring for young children, feeding birds and crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Survivors include: three sons, Dennis McNulty of East Wenatchee, Wash., Daniel (Kathy) McNulty of Yakima, Wash., Michael (Debra) McNulty of McMinnville; daughter, Pamela K. Amburgy of Salem; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service and Claggett Creek Cemetery.

The McNary High School has something to trumpet. The band traveled to Anaheim, Calif., to participate in the Heritage Music Festival and received a gold rating and placed first in the 1A division, divisions were established based on school enrollment. McNary also tied with Roseburg High School for the highest score among bands competing in more than one category. Dolly Zhen received the Maestro Award for her solo performance in one of the songs, she earned an individual trophy for the effort.
