Bentley’s to help Family Building Blocks

Of the Keizertimes

Bentley’s Coffee opened recently in Keizer and is already giving away free drinks.

Owner Brandon Eastman is helping local non-profit Family Building Blocks on Friday, Sept. 6. Bentley’s is the former Quickie’s, located in the Copper Creek Mercantile parking lot at 4435 River Road N.

“It’s going to be all day, from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m.,” Eastman said. “We’re doing free 16 ounce drinks with a minimum donation of $1 to go to Family Building Blocks. It is a non-profit that works to prevent child abuse and neglect. They serve more than 1,100 children every year.”

Family Building Blocks provides services to high-risk families with young children. According to the non-profit’s website (, services provided include therapeutic classes for children, home visits and parent education. As a result of the services, 99 percent of the children served are able to live safely with their parents.

“This is the first time I’ve done something with them,” said Eastman, who opened his Keizer location Aug. 12. “They contacted me. One of my really good customers went through the program. They were talking about fundraising possibilities.”

Eastman has high hopes for how much can be raised.

“I’d like to raise between $5,000 and $10,000,” he said. “I don’t know how it’s going to go. Either way, it will be successful.”

Bentley’s will be offering four of its drinks on Sept. 6 instead of the usual assortment: The Nutella, Kahlua ‘n Cream, Real Fruit Strawberry Milkshake and Peach Fruit Fusion.

“We’re only giving away four specific drinks, just to increase our speed so we can get as many cars through as possible and raise as much money as possible,” Eastman said.
