Dana, 63, was born at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego and died at Salem Hospital on Wednesday, July 30, 2014.

She graduated from McNary High School in 1968. Dana was trained in phlebotomy at Salem Hospital where she worked for 10 years. She then worked another 10 years for Kaiser Permanente before continuing to work in several labs in the Salem area.

Dana’s maJor love was music. She sang with the Highlanders of the McNary High School choir. She also sang many years in the choir at Faith Lutheran Church.

Dana was preceded in death by her brother Cullen (Cuffy). She is survived by father Ray, mother Doris and aunt Penny as well as by niece Katrina Paoff (Rick), and great nieces Katelyn and Hayden. She is also survived by cousins Skip (Lynda), Christine (Dick), James, Kate (Joe), Jacob, Sam ,Mina, Debbie and Norma. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Palliative Care Team at Salem Hospital for the compassion and support they extended to Dana. They would also like to thank Camelia Nauta for providing several years of loving care at her foster home.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, Aug. 8 at 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 4505 River Rd. N, Keizer. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Portland office of the American Diabetes Association, Suite 210, 4380 SW McAdam Avenue, Portland OR 97239.
