Maxine Opal (Potter) Wolf, 88, passed away on Sept. 5, 2014, after suffering a stroke.
Wolf was born in Logan, Iowa on March 11, 1926 to parents Ira and Opal Potter. She was reared in Iowa along with her one brother and two sisters. On April 15, 1944 she married Jack Leroy Wolf Sr. and they eventually moved to Oregon where they raised two sons; Bryan and Jack Jr.
She spent the majority of her 69 years of married life as a homemaker for her family; however from 1958 to 1962 she worked at the state hospital in Salem.
Her hobbies included singing, landscaping, painting, fashion, cooking and discovering treasures at thrift shops and garage sales.
Family members said she made everyone feel important, and she always happy, always wore a beautiful smile and put her best foot forward with each new day accompanied by an abiding faith in God.
She was preceded in death by her husband and son, Jack Jr.
She is survived by her oldest son, Bryan Wolf of Lyons; former daughter-in-law, Elaine Hoff and her husband, Dennis Hoff of Hillsboro; granddaughter, Cory Wolf Kirkpatrick and her husband, Frank Kirkpatrick of Vancouver, Wash.; grandson, Chris Wolf of Vancouver, Wash.; granddaughter, Cristi (Wolf) Patershall and her husband, Scott Patershall of Aloha; granddaughter, Sheri (Wolf) Wilson and her husband, Frank Wilson of Battle Ground, Wash.; and four great grandchildren, Hailey and Nathan Patershall and Alyssa and Cameron Wilson.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Keizer Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, 4365 River Road N. Keizer, OR 97303. Private interment will be held at Claggett Cemetery in Keizer.
