With three you get a new salon. Trio Salon has opened its doors at the Sandy River Center at 5171 River Road. The three owners are Hope Martinez, who has  many years of experience with several salons and the Tangled Ends Hair Academy in Keizer. She is joined in the new venture by Molly Barrett and Carolyn Childs.

Martinez is a former owner of Salon 124, and she also owns a salon in west Salem. Barrett and Childs are both graduates of Tangled Ends. The salon will specialize in designer cuts, coloring, extensions, make-up and body waxing.

“This is a labor of love,” said Childs of the salon the three decorated in white and black.

“We’re magic,” remarked Barrett of the working and personal relationship the three owners share.

Though each of the three owners bring their unique views and skills to their new venture, they all agree they are looking for the same result.

“We want our clients to feel good when they leave here, and feel they got their money’s worth,” said Martinez.

All three said these days their clients are turning to the Internet site Pinterest to get ideas for hair designs. Martinez, Barrett and Childs will do what their clients ask regardless of where the idea came from. There will be many services available at the salon; cuts will start at $30.

Soon clients will be able to make appointments online at, or by phone at 503-463-6213, but of course they also accept walk-in business.
